Turin's most colourful district

San Salvario sits directly behind Porta Nuova, Turin's main railway station, and is the multicultural, youthful counterpart to the royal city centre. Along its tree-lined streets, students, families and communities from all over the world live side by side; a synagogue, churches and a mosque all stand close together. By day it's an ordinary residential quarter, by night one of the city's most popular nightlife spots.

Eating, drinking, going out

In recent years San Salvario has become one of Turin's best areas for food and nightlife: international restaurants, craft beer bars, wine bars and clubs draw a mostly young crowd. If you're after authentic, easygoing Turin nightlife, this is the place to be, alongside the Quadrilatero.

Green space on the Po

To the east, the district opens onto Parco del Valentino on the banks of the Po, with the Borgo Medievale and long riverside paths – ideal for winding down a day out. Its location close to the station also makes San Salvario a convenient base for arriving and departing.
